Episode 64: Much Ado About Nothing
Carefree college student Vicente ends up in a desperate fight for freedom when a well-connected friend falsely accuses him of a hit-and-run accident.
If you look up "Much Ado About Nothing" on Allflicks, you will see a trailer for the 2012 modern adaptation of the Shakespeare play of the same title. The trailer is full of famous Hollywood actors you know and it might even make you want to watch the movie. In reality though, Netflix is actually streaming the 2016 Chilean movie that has nothing to do with the play. Much Ado About Nothing is about a whole lot of something. Our hero drugs and drinks his summer vacation away while his single mom takes care of him and his two brothers. His friends kill a drifter one night and then blame him. You'll be in suspense wondering how he will overcome this great obstacle and then sink into disappointment at the conclusion of the film. The movie isn't the worst we've seen but due to frequently missed and shuffled subtitles, this one went from a mediocre read to bad. After the news, we talk about the Ocean's Trilogy. Next week, we're watching Hooking Up.
