Episode 91: Deewaar

Deewaar

Years after his father was captured by the Pakistani army, the son of an Indian soldier takes up a mission into enemy territory to rescue his father.

IMDb

Gordon and I loved the Bollywood movie Singham we watched last year with our guest Paul. Deewaar is the same movie except it was left in the oven a bit longer than Singham. It has more violence, more musical numbers, more dialog, more romance, and a much longer runtime. What could go wrong? The answer is everything. The editing is sometimes comedic, the musical scenes are outrageous, and some of the plot points will make you shout "wut" at the television. This is a bad movie but quite possibly one of the few we've watched that hits that so-bad-it's-good spot. If you've got a free 2 hours and 45 minutes, give it a go. After the news, we're rambling about The Motherfucking Hitman's Motherfucking Body Motherfucking Guard Motherfuckers. Are you sick of Samuel L. Jackson saying the word Motherfucker yet? Next week, we're watching Spy Who Went Into the Cold.
