Episode 106: Queen

Queen

Rani is a 24-year-old Punjabi woman. Her family is conservative. Her brother escorts her everywhere for her safety. But when her wedding is cancelled by her fiancé, Rani is shocked and confused, and she decides to take her honeymoon by herself.

IMDb

For the third season in a row, we have landed on a monstrously long Bollywood film. Unlike Singham and Deewaar, Queen does not feature nearly enough mustache, nor flying JEEPs. Instead, it's EuroTrip but like if your grandmother went instead of Scotty and Cooper. Despite all those shortcomings, we actually liked this movie enough to give it 3 stars each, which is above average for this podcast so if you're up for reading subtitles for 2.5 hours, go check out Queen. The Golden Globes were held this past week so after we listen to A-list celebrities take credit for defeating misogyny, and punch Tommy Wiseau in the stomach, we're rambling about the two new Dave Chappelle Netflix specials (Yes, there are four now), and some video games. Next week, we're watching The House at the End of Time.
