Episode 110: The Propaganda Game

The Propaganda Game

North Korea. The last communist country in the world. Unknown, hermetic and fascinating.

IMDb

A brainwashed Spaniard take Gordon and Geoff on a tour of North Korea. If you've ever ridden the It's a Small World ride at Disney World, you've pretty much visited Rocket Man's paradise as well. The footage captured is incredible but the commentary is lacking. As a viewer, you don't believe anything the North Koreans or their supporters tell you. You don't believe any of the crazy Westerners that get interviewed. The documentary ends up raising more questions than answering any which could be interpreted as a successful film or a failure. To be safe, we disagreed on the ratings to cover all bases. If you missed all the coverage of North Korea in 2015 (there were lots of journalists invited to the country for some reason), give this film a watch. It's truly a bizarre place that is worth gawking at. After the review, we're rambling about Black Panther and the 2018 Winter Olympics. Next week, it's our annual Oscars special! Let us know who you think is going to win Best Picture on Twitter.
